Democratic political strategist James Carville predicts the Democratic Party -- already burdened by the Gov. Rod Blagojevich scandal -- will suffer more embarrassing scandals in 2009.
Carville, who made his political predictions for CNN.com, said the reason is based on simple math: More Democrats in elected office increases the likelihood of scandal.
"I firmly believe that there are streaks, and that political scandals happen in clusters," Carville said. "The Republican Party had its fair share of scandal and charges of deeply imbedded corruption preceding the 2006 election and leading up to the 2008 elections.
"It doesn't hurt to point out that these types of things are also more likely to harm the party in the majority -- Republicans had more elected politicians (315 Republican officeholders in House, Senate, and state governorships) leading up to 2006.

If fewer criminals had been elected, there would be less likelihood of scandal because they aren't as criminal as the Democrats who were elected.
D U H. Yea, now that they are standing in the light we can actually see the cookie jar hanging off the end of their arm.
So, the little commies are a bunch of glorified juvenile delinquents therefore we are just supposed to expect more crap? Hey, that is just great, right?
I thought Nancy Pelousey was going to drain the swamp and root out the alligators.
“and charges of deeply imbedded corruption preceding the 2006 election and leading up to the 2008 elections.”
“CHARGES” is the operative word here. The only corruption that went on were the daily “suggestions” of corruption the the msm and the democrats dreamed up against the Republicans.
Heh, heh. What goes around, comes around. They had Republicans tossed out on allegations of corruption and lack of morals, and so the wheel of karma turns...
Nancy Pelosi is Queen of the Swamp.
There is no one more involved in the crooked machinations of Congress than she.
It shows how corrupt Unions are that they would support her and send her money when she will not allow a Union anywhere near her hotel fortune.
Based on the headline only, I can only respond, ya think?
Of COURSE Democrats will have more scandals - their party is the biggest criminal enterprise on the planet, and more powerful than the Mafia. There is NO ONE to reign them in - the MSM just ignores or spins anything they do short of outright murder in front of witnesses, and the Justice Department has proven itself absolutely WORTHLESS at prosecuting this criminal enterprise.
Nancy Pelousey is an alligator all mouth and no ears.
The Ragin’ Cajun’ is right on the money here. Scandal will be the hallmark of the Obama years—I predict. In the end the public will see the Dems for what they are—scandal mongers.
Corruption in the coming group will make U. S. Grant and his sleazy administration look like a Sunday school picnic.
Yup Carville being a Clinton operative is setting the tone for Hillary taking down Obama, scandal after scandal when they drop all the dirt they have been holding for the right time, once she’s in position.
Two big differences in (R) vs (d) scandals:
1. Republican in scandal = he / she is gone
2. democrat in scandal = resume enhancer
Even though I disagree with him on everything I’ve always kind of liked Carville. He’s a “tells it like he sees it” type, which is refreshing in this era of pre-packaged soundbites.
Sounds like he knows exactly whats going to go down, its like that point when the kettle gets to boiling point and then keeps on whistling until it explodes.
Carville Predicts Democratic Scandal Streak”
Yeah, but how much coverage will it get?
I hope you are right about the American people seeing the rats for what they really are. As for the scandal thing, business as usual.
