That statement also caught my attention. None of the three religions in question originated in Jerusalem.

Judaism has as it's center, Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.
King David paid 600 shekels of Gold for the Temple Mount (1 Chronicles 21:25)

Yah'shua paid the price for our sins in Jerusalem.

The land of Israel belongs to YHvH
and He has given it to His chosen people.

Islam began in what is now Saudi Arabia, not Jerusalem. Judaism originated long before King David conquered Jerusalem and made it his capital. Christianity, arguably, started when Jesus began preaching, teaching, and recruiting followers in what is today northern Israel.
