I think that would constitute a WAR on drugs.
We just kind of play at it here in the USA.

First line of the story...
A 20-year-old Ghanaian has been sentenced to death in Singapore for trafficking 2.6 kilograms (5.73 pounds) of cannabis... Hope your reading isn't affected by sonsumption of something. :-)

What are you talking about? The story says the man was trafficking 2.6KG which is a bit over 5 and a half pounds.

Sadly a lot of “limited government” conservatives on this site would seek the same sort of laws here, in this land of the “free”.

I hate to say this, but if one is a decent, law-abiding capitalist Singapore looks like one of the finest cities in the world in which to live. Would be very interested, in fact, in hearing about what life is really like from anyone who has spent time there.

I lived there for over 3 years.
Massive police state. No free speech, no liberty, no dissent to the Gov’t, massive foreign worker programs, no gun rights.
But it's clean.

I spent time there in the 80’s with USN. It was clean and pretty safe. OTOH possession of two guns (defined as trafficking) of any type for any reason will get you hanged too.
