For a long time, people around the country have held the impression that their local political corruption is just like Chicago's. It's not; Chicago corruption is in a league of its own, and anybody who gets involved will get dirty.

The only I am shocked by this entire Rod Blagoevich episode is if it turns out to be the most shocking revelation in the next four years.

Chicago corruption is so corrupt it’s entertaining. I always read John Kass in the Chicago Tribune, have done for over 10 years. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of The Chicago Way and he has his fingers on the pulse. A very entertaining and well-informed columnist. Highly recommended.
