In retrospect, you're correct, although I am an erstwhile Tech fan. Ole Miss impressed me--they didn't just win, they dominated, after the first 2 minutes or so. How about having them replace Penn State in the playoffs?

Texas Tech is the only Texas team I like at all and I especially hate Ole Miss. I like Tech's coach, and dislike the OM coach.

But OM deserves the praise.

Sooners would beat Utah by 50 points.

We'll never know. Like Boise State in 2007, it is doubtful.

Utah won AT big house BIG 10 Michigan in their first game, they beat one of the best Pac10 teams and now they have beaten a team from the most powerful BCS Conference. The Utes beat a TCU team that was ranked No. 12 and one ranked 14(BYU).

Oregon State had just beaten USC when Utah beat them and USC is campaigning for the Mythical Championship now. Utah beat Alabama more decisively than SEC Champion Florida did starting out up by 21-0.

There is no National Champion other than the BCS Bowl Bureaucracy.

And Utah will have to cover for around 2,000 unsold tickets...

Playoffs work incredibly well for college basketball. March Madness is huge so, why not football? We don’t have to replace the bowl system, just assign different priorities to the games. But, that would cost “the blessed teams” money so, its not likely to happen anytime soon.

Yes, the Utes are an Indian tribe that lived in the Uinta Mountains of Utah and surrounding areas. In fact, that’s where the name Utah comes from.

Remember, Kyle Whittingham played for BYU! He is a product of the LaVell Edwards school of football.

FYI-I’m a BYU alum too (BA, Public Relations, Class of 94) but I couldn’t be happier for the Utes!

The true meaning of BCS is Big Crock of S#$%t!!!!
There needs to be a 16 team playoffthat includes all 11 conference champs and 5 at-large teams. Decide this on the field, not inside a damn computer or some biased coaches head.

Utahs showing against Alabama leads me to believe that Florida might be somewhat over rated.

However, all season long many thought Alabama was over rated.

Would be a great game between Oklahoma and Utah.

Shame we don't have a play off system.

Hell USC could beat the Lions right now.

Or the Cardinals, the most overrated NFL playoff team this year.

Yet remains to be seen. Jury is still out. If Florida wins, not so much.

Jury is still out on Big 12 also.

When Bama lost their number one ranking and the game to Florida, it was over for them.

Saban warned that it would be difficult for them to get up emotionally for the game...talk radio in Alabama reported how the fans and players did not care about this bowl game...

You see this often in college football...when a team believes it is going to be playing for the national title and then loses...drops down to fourth place...there is nothing to play for.

I do not suggest that Utah is not a good team...althougth a 25-23 win over Michigan, a 13-10 win over New Mexico, and a 37-21 win over Weber State are not the stuff of legend.

Bama was flat as a pancake...they didn’t care about that game...the coaches warned that it might be that way...

The BCS is an embarassment...Utah certainly should be one of the teams in a playoff system....but they would not have made it through the buzz saw of a playoff system...no WEBER STATE or New Mexico on that slate..

I’m a Utah State Aggie so I’m pretty used to get beat up by both BYU and the U, but I cheered for boht teams in their respective bowls. And I think a victory for Utah is a victory for all Utah schools.
