Your whole construct presumes a defeatist mentality and a willingness to let the LeftMedia dictate the terms of the argument. Who exactly determines that “I will lose that argument”?

You misunderstand. My whole construct is not defeatist. If so, I'd be on your side. The media will dictate the terms of the argument and you're going to feed them the ammo to do so if you continue to force an issue they so easily will use to paint you as a crackpot.
That was the defense used for Clinton and it worked quite well. While we were rooting around trying to prove Clinton was engaged in a fraudulent land deal, his administration shredded the rule of law.
My whole construct is that if we allow our arguments to be so easily defeated as "crackpottery" (and this one is a godsend for them) then it's going to be a very long 4 years.
