I agree. Most of the Constitution is a historic relic. We should not get all wound up in it. The whole "natural born" issue is ridiculous. We live in an international world, we are all citizens of that world.

This is 2009, already! Let's move on. This thing makes us all look silly.

Thank you for the most poignant post on this thread... You had the guts to say what a couple others have only had the guts to sheepishly imply... The Constitution is a dead issue to many Americans, nothing more than a “historic relic” as you say, the value of an outhouse copy of a Sears catalog at best.

As you can see, most of us violently disagree with such a childish ill-informed opinion. But I applaud your willingness to put a fine point on the hidden agenda of so many who lack similar courage to be so open about it.

Nothing makes my day like a good helping of sarcasm.

Wow!!! There is nothing in the Constitution that should be ignored unless it has specifically been replaced through a formal amendment. Otherwise, we don't have the rule of law, just government by force and mob rule. There are no exceptions. None. Furtunately, there are enough people who value the Second Amendment that my view will prevail. I just hope the side of (should I say it?) truth, justice, and the American Way prevails peacefully rather than through the other path.
