It’s like naming a boy Junior. One calls ones son “Trip” or “Trey” if the father and grandfather of the exact same name are still living. If Levi’s father was named Levi, they could have named the baby Levi, then called him Trip. Hillbillies! One does NOT use these nicknames on birth certificates. No doubt the parents of Tripp Easton Mitchell mistakenly believe they have given their son a “classy” appellation. The family is a joke.
