The 45-minute attack started when one of the men approached the woman in the street, struck her with a blunt object, ordered her to disrobe and sexually assaulted her with the help of the others, according to detectives.

How does this happen on a public street? Do none of the passersby have cell phones?

Good points. I'll wait before making judgment. I have seen too many of these cases, FAR TOO MANY, turn out to be trumped up on nothing.

I think it matters 'what street, what neighborhood'.

There are streets where open drug dealing and prostitution are carried out.

I imagine the public rape of a lesbian probably drew a crowd of onlookers, or those who have learned to 'mind their own business' (or die interfering).
