Personally, I can’t believe how dumb world leaders are concerning war. First, war is the LAST resort. That should be made clear by leaders. Second, if we are PUSHED into war it will be TOTAL and COMPLETE. We will keep what we gain and NEVER give it back unless WE chose to. Those should be the universal rules of war.
For Israel, Hamas has been lobbing rockets into Israel for the last couple years. They should have said, if one rocket comes after a certain deadline, that rocket will be the last straw and we WILL declare WAR. When that rocket came, Israel should have formally declared WAR on Gaza. From there they should have done exactly what they have done up until this point. However, nobody should be talking about peace.
Next, they should invade and subdue the population and achieve the total capitulation of the leadership. They should root out and destroy Hamas and they should set up an occupational authority. Next, they should either re-annex Gaza and resettle the population or make peace with Egypt as their only partner, cut Gaza down the middle, give half to Egypt and keep half for themselves.
WAR is WAR...people should get used to that...especially in the middle east.
