Well in that case I agree with you both. I misunderstood what you meant by drunk driving vs impaired driving. I can't stand the "buzzed driving is drunk driving" commercials... or the fact that the DUI/DWI talks that are mandatory for students at most colleges say it is wrong to have *any* alcohol and drive.

Of course we should be able to enjoy a drink or two over dinner and then drive ourselves home. I don't drink to the point of being impaired weather I am going to be driving or not. I don't drive when I'm >0.8% BAC (or even remotely close -- if I've had more than two that day or more than one/hour, which should keep me well under 0.4% -- and my personal tests have shown that to be the case), but as the article posted states simply abiding by the law isn't enough to keep you out of trouble.

If I ever get pulled over I suppose I will insist on a blood test; that appears to be the best bet.

There's a lot of things you wouldn't do when you're above .8 BAC. Like breathing.

Okay, okay. I know you meant .08 BAC.

One problem, and it won’t matter if you take a breath test or blood test on any other kind of test is that even if you’re under .08 it is the cops discretion as to weather to take you in for DUI.

DON’T TAKE THE TEST. BLOOD OR BREATH. It is your constitutional right not to incriminate yourself. That’s just my advice, take it or leave it. Do not get out of the car and take one of those, stand-on-one-leg, say you’re ABC’s backword, touch your nose while standing on one foot tests!

Oh,BTW, Some folks can blow .08 after 2 drinks. But what does that matter. It’s the cops discretion wheather to book you or not.
