How is a straight up DUI conviction ...   ...one with a victim? Who is the victim?

The conviction is the solution --but you probably didn't mean that.  You were probably talking about the driving under the influence.  OK, so you don't agree it's bad when someone's driving shows influence from intoxicants.  Most of us do, and we've made laws to mitigate the problem caused by those that don't agree.

Okay, let me simplify because we're getting all over the place. You wrote that a DUI is not a victimless crime. Okay. I am asking who the victim is. Who is the victim of a DUI that involves no other crime or an automobile collision? A simple DUI. Who is the victim?

For the record, I never said that I don't agree it's bad when someone's driving shows influence from intoxicants. Don't put words in my mouth. This topic interests me because I clearly see how the government uses it to errode our rights.

For shame.
