We have a place nearby where the illegals like to cross the highway from the Safeway to the Wal-Mart.
Although there's a light controlled crossing 100 feet away, they can't be bothered.
The other evening right as the Sun was in everyone's eyes one of these guys jumped out into traffic and ended up getting an expenses paid month's long vacation in the local hospital. He'll never be the same of course.
What did the driver do wrong? No doubt (s)he was going the speed limit in a car. If (s)he'd been walking along the road, there'd been no problem ~ well, maybe the threat of getting robbed by the other illegals gathered there, but (s)he'd posed no threat to them.
This particular friend was not entering a highway or coming from a private drive or secondary road when he was killed. Going straight on a road with the right-of-way when the woman made a left turn in front of him. He was not speeding according to witnesses.
But it's okay that she broke the law and failed to yield because he was just on a motorcycle, and since NO ONE SEES THEM his death was just an accident. She should not be punished, unlike my other friend with the DUI that caused no death or destruction because he damn well could have. He could have and must be punished; she did cause death, but that was just an accident.
Afterall the person in the right-of-way was on a motorcycle. No one can see those pesky motorcycles. What with their day-running headlights and reflectors? People should not have to take the time out of their busy schedules to actually scan an intersection to determine if it is clear of objects smaller than their car before proceding.
I mean, it's a good thing she only hit a motorcyclist--she could of hit a young mom with a stroller. If that driver shouldn't be expected to see a motorcycle, how about the people crossing the street with the light--the street she was turning onto?
Well, as long she wasn't drunk. That would be different then.
