They have also added to establishments closing because so many more people are not stopping to have a cold one after work because of the fear of the DUI laws..........back door prohibition, nothing less.
Reminds me of the whole seatbelt law debacle:
Year 1: We need seatbelt laws
Year 2: We will enact seatbelt laws but they will be secondary offenses (i.e., the police cannot stop you merely for no seatbelt worn)
Year 3: Seatbelt violations are now primary offenses (with accompanying increases in fines) - by the way we can also search your trunk.
Year 4: We aren’t satisfied with stopping you on the off-chance we spot a violation. We are now conducting ‘safety checkpoints’ in broad daylight or dark that have nothing to do with DUI.
And so it goes. Pointless, unproductive and incremental. But hey casino empires are built on house edges of a few percentages and so are shiny new police stations and government budgets.
