Hi Star,

I dropped in to say thanks to you and all the patriots for your good work over the past year. YouTube Smackdown began 18 months ago primarily as an effort by just four individuals. Think for a moment on the odds that four ordinary citizens might have against worldwide jihad hosted by one of the world's largest corporations no less (Google). Where even to begin? We didn't have a clue.

We knew only that our enemies were using a U.S. provider to broadcast video of our guys getting killed. My initial response was “who the hell is allowing this shiite to go down? Outrageous!” So we put the Smackdown together on a wing and a prayer. Initially our volunteers were recruited from Bill Whittle’s blog. We started seeing some early success getting individual videos knocked down.

The key to larger success eluded us for many months. We had vague notions that we needed some sort of critical mass before we would be consistently successful. Eventually our effort went viral. A dozen other sites picked up on the effort including Free Republic. For your support and the consistent efforts by your readership to aid us, I thank you more than I can adequately express. You guys are aces. To date we have taken down over 15,000 enemy videos. Consider the man-hours our enemies put into making those videos. Think about the psychological effect on jihadists knowing that they are hunted even in cyberspace.

Together we have made a difference. Indeed, ordinary citizens have rallied to the call unbidden and made a HUGE difference. I thank you for your efforts. Keep up the good work; we're not finished yet, not by a long shot.

You could have made the original post a ‘little’ smaller. I only responded because there are people like me that don’t know what your purpose is and to some of us it looks like it is junk. By the time I scrolled through the bugs and bombs and many links, I lost interest. Simplicity does work.

Good mornin', afternoon and Happy New Year!

Yesterday, we went after one big rat. and a most dangerous rat at that. Why so dangerous? This particular rat is hosting lectures on bomb making techniques, servicing AK-47s, and producing improvised C4 explosives. Despite our efforts, and the removal of three of his videos, this dangerous character is still holding court on YouTube. So, we are going after him again. Yesterday, netmilsmom asked if we should flag these as abusive of explosives or as “Providing services to terrorists violates executive orders 12947 and 13224.” I think we need to be more specific with YouTube, they need to know the nature of this particular rat and the danger he poses. So, I recommend we flag these videos with the following phrase (or something similar):

This video is a lecture on bomb making techniques. Further, this user is hosting 161 other videos on bomb making, improvised explosive devices, and how to care for and maintain assault rifles and machine guns. In addition, this user is providing dangerous instructions on how to mix chemicals for explosives. This video should be immediately removed and this user suspended.

What is wrong with YT? Maybe they’re all drunk.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were all drunk... I often wonder what goes on down there at YouTube headquarters. Some videos that should be a slam dunk removal stay up forever, for instance, the Danial Pearl execution video. Despite being reviewed by someone at YouTube, as evidenced by being put behind the over 18 wall, that video is still available. Unbelievable.

If this guy makes it through the day, well, then they must all be drunk.

Not only that - but YT’s recent changes that make it all but impossible to find an appropriate form to use to complain directly to them is infuriating.

Click on the contact us button on the right side and you get a form to complain about user harassment. That one seems to still work... for now.
