The breakup of the U.S. (WorldnetDaily's Joseph Farah takes Russian prediction seriously)
WorldnetDaily ^ | Dec 30,2008 | Joseph Farah

Posted on 12/30/2008 4:52:31 PM PST by SeekAndFind

In 1990, few were predicting the breakup of the Soviet Union.

But it came – only a year later.

With 2009 set to begin in a few days, there is someone predicting the breakup of the United States – a year from now.

His name is Igor Panarin, a former KGB analyst and dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry's school for foreign diplomats – in other words, a serious fellow.

For him, it's nothing new. He's been making the same prediction for last 10 years. But, until recently, no one took him seriously. And then came the economic calamity that has rocked Americans and the rest of the world, too. Now, Panarin's predictions of an end of the United States, due to economic and moral collapse, is being taken seriously by many.

Panarin blames out-of-control mass immigration, economic decline and moral degradation for what he believes could be a civil war as early as next fall and a total collapse of the dollar. By June or July of 2010, he sees the U.S. breaking into six pieces.

Now, I'm not buying into Panarin's entire prediction. But I do think there's something to it.

I've been talking about this possibility more and more in recent years. I don't see how this house of cards we're building can possibly withstand the next significant windstorm. The political ties no longer bind. Only inertia and the threat of force hold us together.

The economic crisis is clearly visible to all – but all the wrong buttons are being pushed. In fact, the same people who got us into this mess are digging a deeper hole for all of us to climb out of.

The other two crises he points to have scarcely even been recognized by many people – out-of-control immigration and moral rot.

Absolutely not. McCain belongs to the wrong party to begin with.

You don’t think Pres. McCain would be better than Pres. Obama?

Personally I don't think he would be all that much better. Some but not enough. I voted for a conservative in the primaries and think we would have had a far better candidate if he had won but he didn't.

Of course states with the smallest overall populations or those with the most welfare recipients as a percentage of their populations mean more fed bucks in than payed out. Being “red” or “blue” has nothing to do with it.

Maintaining federal assets (interstate highways, military bases, national parks, etc.)in less populated states like Alaska,North Dakota,New Mexico,Montana and South Dakota naturaly means more money in than going out.

Draining federal assets with large welfare populations as a percentage of their populations, such states (or district) as DC,Mississippi,West Virginia (especially with KKK Byrd’s help),Alabama and Arkansas also naturaly means more money in than out.

Now highly populated states, even with large welfare communities, have enough taxpayers to compensate.Take into account the higher average incomes of taxpayers in highly populated states and the riddle is solved.

The one thing we really need is to reform the primaries. We can’t continue to let big liberal states choose our candidates. I hate to say it, but proportional primaries makes sense.

We voted ourselves into this situation and we can vote ourselves out of it. All it takes is a little integrity in the voting booth.

I agree with you, what do you think about reforming the primaries?

"Now, Panarin's predictions of an end of the United States, due to economic and moral collapse, is being taken seriously by many."

No one of any interest or intellect is taking him seriously.

I agree with both of you guys. Secession is conceding to the enemies of the Republic. We should do it the right way and support candidates who want to take back the three branches of government and actually follow the Constitution. Then by following the 10th Amendment many of the FReepers on this thread would be happy. Well, maybe.

For one thing the primaries last too long and have become an endurance contest. Some great candidates fall by the wayside simply due to the lack of funding. Then there’s the media which pick their favorites and make them into front runners.

Oh put on your big boy panties and vote conservative and stop your little fantasy tantrums about destroying the nation because you didn’t get your way.

Can you actually read?

"Voting conservative" is not an option. Voting, in fact, has been ACORNed into a quaint pantomime, giving the illusion of effect but none of the side effects.

Dissolution of states happens 100% of the time. Read a history book. The causes are always the same, only the durations and body counts vary. All the causes are in now in place. We aren't having a "fantasy" about destroying the nation, its corrupt and decayed electorate and government has done that for us, we're just trying to figure out how to cope.

"Getting my way" is defined by the Declaration and the Constitution. I don't compromise on that, and I pity you if you do, and allow your children to be robbed of their birthright on your watch.

One other thing. Instead of debates between candidates from the same parties, put our candidates up against the democrats right from the beginning. That way we don’t get saddled with a candidate who can’t handle himself in a streetfight.

My point is he seems to be resorting to the time worn tactic of blaming the immigrants, its a red herring. How many natural born citizens voted for Barky and his “change”?How many supported the rats? How many believe in the rat`s socialist agenda? If there is a civil war its not going to be fought between natives and foreigners, its going to be fought amongst natives and the lines will be drawn along political ones.

Socialism is the REAL enemy and it`s adherents are it`s soldiers, regardless of their national origin. But with a place to run back to,I simply think its the natives who are the ones who`ll have no choice but to stay and fight for Barky`s brave new world of “change”,or risk losing their free ride, its all THEY know.

Many immigrants to this country returned home. Besides that, when you came here it was sink or swim. No safety nets, you either assimilated, worked hard or starved. We became our own culture. Now, we want everyone who comes here to feel like they never left their homeland. When my grandfather came here from Italy, he wanted to be American, not Italian-American. My mother and her brother never learned Italian, even though both of their parents could speak it. They spoke only English. My Grandfather never went back to Italy to even visit, and he could more than afford to. He became a very successful business owner.

We have let uncontrolled immigration ruin this country, along with our own government funding groups like LaRaza that keep people from assimilating.

I don’t see where it’s treason. I think what our government has been doing to us as citizens is treason.

“Well, the media has been spinning these absurd Obama/Lincoln comparisons, why not make them even more similar. The red states can split from the blue and engage in a whole new Civil War!

I’ll wager the new confederacy (red states) will fare better this time.”

Actually if you think about it the red states will fare better because:

A majority of the military bases are in red states, and a majority of the military personell themselves are red staters.

Industry in blue states is floundering, while it’s getting stronger in red states.

Red states has most of the oil reserves and oil refining capacity.

Red states has a more disbursed infrastructure thus lessening the vunerability to attacks.

Red states have few gun control laws.

Etc, etc.
