I realize this is a dem situation (we certainly aren't going to get a republican), but I'm not so sure why the senate should reject him. As far as dirty Illinois politics go, I believe he's one of the least dirty. Furthermore, at age 72, he just might be a placeholder until the people can elect their own candidate.

Harry Reid might be making much ado about nothing at this point.

That's what he does best. And as for durbin, his mouth always precedes his brain by a day or so. They talk a big program, but they'll vote like the craven pups that they are.
