BAGHDAD Iraqi Army and Multi-National Division Baghdad Soldiers seized weapons caches in Baghdad Dec. 28.
At about 2 p.m. Iraqi Army Soldiers serving with the 4th Battalion, 54th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division found another weapons cache in the Mansour District of Baghdad which included three propane tanks rigged to be improvised explosive devices, 40 pounds of ball bearings, seven rocket propelled grenade heads, six cell phone chargers, two mortar rounds, two license plates, two 45 pound unknown bulk explosives bags, a pressure plate, four sniper rifles, a cell phone, three light switches and a spool of copper wire.
Earlier that day, Soldiers serving with the 2nd Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division Baghdad, discovered a weapons cache northwest of Baghdad at approximately 10 a.m. The cache included nine 60 mm and seven 82 mm mortar rounds.
