"sigh"
How long do you suppose it will be before Team 0bama (gag me with a spoon) looks across the Pond and says "How enlightened! We need that here in the USA as well!"?
And why should it stop with women? Homosexuals and racial minorities need to be on EACH fire engine as well.
"banging head on desk"
The last person I would want to see coming up a ladder to save me from a burning building would be a woman, and I am a woman. Women have little arm strength as compared to men (we have our strength in our hips, for babymaking). Just what I want, to be dropped on the way down by a female fireMAN. Geez.
Ed Koch said it best: I dont care what sex a firefighter is, as long as they can carry a 200 pound mayor out of a burning building. In other words, screw diversity, celebrate competence.
Firefighter is just one of those professions where bigger and stronger is better. Thats reality, and reality doesnt care about diversity, political correctness, or feelings.
Good news for the little people is that there are other professions where smaller and lighter is better - helicopter pilot, submarine crew, etc.
ditto
In that case, may God have mercy on the patients served by the Bedlam Fire Service.
The male muslim population is threatened...
(at least I believe they should be)
Ed Koch is evil, but he often makes sense. This is one of those times.
Have there been any lawsuits against fire departments for deploying people (i.e., women) who were unable to save people’s lives because of insufficient physical strength?
Remember the video that Rush showed on his TV show of the affirmative-action firefemales collapsing under the weight of ladders, hoses, and people they were attempting to carry?
I’m not an expert on fire departments, but I do know that the San Francisco Fire Department is famous for its affirmative action hijinks. Lots of firefighters given early/undeserved promotions for being black/Hispanic/Asian/female. Probably gay too, knowing SF. Oh, and trannies. Can’t forget them.
I have a nephew and a brother-in-law that are
Denver Firemen.
Those are the MEN you want to show up when you need it.
I’m 6’3’,and 210 pounds.
There are no women that I know that could get me out of a building or a foxhole if needed.
I know one woman (college friend) who could carry men out of a burning building. Strangely, despite her size and build she has a feminine voice. Weird huh.
But of course women like that are very rare. If those wacky Diversity Committee people think they can find one in five, they’re going to be looking for the rest of their lives.
Can you imagine a boomer with a 100% female crew? I think the whole world would behave a little bit better knowing they were out there somewhere.
The Canadian Navy considered having one of its four submarines manned (womanned) by an all-female crew. It wasn’t a boomer, though.
I still think you have to throw in a dozen or more ICBMs to make it interesting.
“Women have little arm strength as compared to men (we have our strength in our hips, for babymaking). Just what I want, to be dropped on the way down by a female fireMAN. Geez.”
As per your picture (LOL) then there is the occasional freak. My lord, she’s ghastly. And no, I wouldn’t want to see that coming up the ladder either. She’s the Incredible Hulk without being green.
In fact I work with one now who played womens pro football, college basketball and softball, and boxed in the firemen/police olympics against and an exmarine cop and kicked her butt.
That being said she will be the first to disagree with quaotas for women. In fact shes for stronger qualifiers for both sexes. Unless your at the slowest firehall in the world its oo hard at times for most people.
Arrggh!!!!!
Haharrrgghhhhh!
Laugh or cry, I’m not sure.
I’m surprised the Brits havent mandated a Muslim on each engine too and no responses to fire calls during prayer time for ragheads.
