Well...one theory would be that Israel decides the US is going to be neutral at best for the next four years.
In that event, Israel might intentionally or “accidentally” get involved in war with Iran, since Iran has already very publicly committed to attacking the US military and other US interests (and closing the Persian Gulf) if Israel attacks. If Iran attacks us and our allies on a large scale, we’ll have no choice but to take Iran out.
Advantage: Israel.

BTW, one other thought that might be of interest: war is in some ways in Iran’s best interests as well, as long as it’s limited, boosts the price of oil, and leaves Iran able to export oil. $35/barrel oil is killing Iran, $90 is supposedly their break–even point.
Granted, there’s a fine line there - the war must be quite limited.

If they attacked Iran at the same time, they might catch the Mullahs napping. Whatever they do, they should probably get it done before January 20th. Guessing it will happen...
