Rather contends not only that his report was true - "What the documents stated has never been denied, by the president or anyone around him," he says - but that CBS succumbed to political pressure from conservatives to get the report discredited and to have him fired. Dan-the-Forger's suit is pure publicity stunt pot-banging, and a transparent attempt to reclaim some lost cred and to obscure his shameful forgery pedaling.
I see no sufficient grounds for a lawsuit; however, might not CBS have grounds for a so-called "SLAPP suite" here?
