2008 Was The Year Man-Made Global Warming Was Disproved (Original Article)
The Telegraph (UK) ^ | 12/27/08 | Christopher Booker

The first, on May 21, headed "Climate change threat to Alpine ski resorts" , reported that the entire Alpine "winter sports industry" could soon "grind to a halt for lack of snow". The second, on December 19, headed "The Alps have best snow conditions in a generation" , reported that this winter's Alpine snowfalls "look set to beat all records by New Year's Day".

Easily one of the most important stories of 2008 has been all the evidence suggesting that this may be looked back on as the year when there was a turning point in the great worldwide panic over man-made global warming. Just when politicians in Europe and America have been adopting the most costly and damaging measures politicians have ever proposed, to combat this supposed menace, the tide has turned in three significant respects.

First, all over the world, temperatures have been dropping in a way wholly unpredicted by all those computer models which have been used as the main drivers of the scare. Last winter, as temperatures plummeted, many parts of the world had snowfalls on a scale not seen for decades. This winter, with the whole of Canada and half the US under snow, looks likely to be even worse. After several years flatlining, global temperatures have dropped sharply enough to cancel out much of their net rise in the 20th century...

An earlier thread was posted about a story written here in the US that referenced this article. Its a good article so, I thought it should have its own thread.

If global warming isn’t happening anymore it’s only because Algore and NBC green week and Anderson Cooper’s Planet in Peril have been so successful.

Typically, the guys who trumpet global warming suddenly realize it’s a fraud when their own profits are endangered by the fraud.

The high priests Al Gore, et al, make their socialist long range plans to control us as God chuckles and goes about His business.

Speaking of profits, the whole carbon trading/offsets scheme will likely make the whole Madoff swindle look someone swiping pennies out of the change dish.

Most of the Elite- Washingtonian and NewYorkian, are up to their eyeballs in this carbon trading ponzi and will be hustling to get all the requisite laws passed before the edifice crashes down. Then they will have what they seek and that is Control, total Control and it will no longer matter to them whether the economy is the greatest in the world or merely superior to some African economies.

Thank you for bringing this to attention. Its an excellent article which neatly encapsules the real world situation.

Now, if we could only bring it to the attention of Kevin Rudd (Australia) and Obama, who are both still determined to bring in a ruinous emissions trading scheme.

Tell them? Chances are, Mr. Obama and Mr. Rudd are fully aware of this and condone it.

Now that the Democrats are in uncontested control of both houses of Congress as well as the White House, I assume they will instantly push the Kyoto Treaty thru. Afterall, they have spent the last 8 years trashing Bush for blocking it. They’ve got no excuse for not passing it now.

When Al Gore was VP, he presided over a Senate vote on Kyoto. It was voted down unanimously.

The Democrats deny that, though. Now is their chance to put our money where their mouth is. They have no excuse. I think the GOP should make a big thing about it if they don’t push it thru.

“The Democrats deny that, though.”

That's not surprising. The amazing, and disturbing thing is that they get away with denying it. It's a matter of Congressional record — but, the MSM never mentions it.

They get away with it because, outside of conservative talk radio and, more often than not, Fox News, there is no one holding the MSM accountable. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans still get their 'news' from the MSM.

The MSM are now little more than a PR organization for leftist insanity (such as the global warming hoax) and the Democrat party, in general. That includes relentless, carefully orchestrated Obama worship, of course. They will never be honest about anything pertaining to leftist Democrat politicians and their schemes to control us via environmental and 'hate speech' laws - or whatever the justification du jour.

Let's face it: no matter how disasterous his policies may prove to be for the nation and it's people, the MSM will never, ever hold 'Messiah' Obama accountable. Never. They have far too much invested in his presidency to ever find him remotely culpable of anything but good intentions ruined by the ineptness, corruption and/or stupidity of others and, of course, misunderstood by an unappreciative American citizenry that the MSM will claim harbors a collective latent racial bias and so, stubbornly refused to acknowledge the 'brilliant' and 'caring' Obama's alleged greatness - or something like that.

Count on it.

That's not surprising. The amazing, and disturbing thing is that they get away with denying it.

That was a "Sense of the Senate" vote against the Kyoto Treaty, 95-0. The treaty itself was never submitted by Billy Jeff because it would have been rejected.

George W. Bush brushed the Treaty aside with about as much contempt as it deserved. In so doing, he has delayed most of this chaotic gold rush for 8 years. That may be long enough to sink it as we see the climate turn back toward colder temperatures and the GW "models" predictive capabilities falter and fail.

Politicians, though, rush to any gravy train, and they probably will continue on the GW disastrous path until brought to a halt by vote of the people.

I know it is not possible but in my wildest dreams, I would like to see the perpetrators of this horrendous scam exposed and ridiculed for the utter scum that they are.
