Time for the RNC to clear the field in 2012 and anoint Palin as the nominee.

I don't quite agree. Governor Palin should spend the next four years:
(1) governing the State of Alaska as well as she governed in her first two years, which is to say better than any other sitting governor in the 50 states (or 57 states for Obama fans), and
(2) campaigning, getting her message out, learning to handle the hostile questions, hostile editing, and hostile socialist journalists.

To annoint Governor Palin would be to deny her the learning opportunity that comes with a campaign. While campaigning is Obama's only qualification, it at least prepares the candidate for the dog and pony show that the media are capable of handling. I hope Governor Palin will be our next candidate and our next president, but I hope she'll earn the nomination so she will have a better chance of winning in November, 2012.

Thank you for listing a path that makes sense! Dont’ get me wrong, I was very pleased with Gov. Palin’s nomination and would be delighted to see her as a serious nominee, but I don’t want to see her “annointed” before she has earned her stripes!

I agree — she needs to continue to run the state of Alaska as a fiscal conservative, then get out there and fire up the base, take some shots, learn to field them, and then be battle ready in 12
