While they are fixing that, they need to do something about deadbeat dads. Maybe the deceased Boudreaux was a deadbeat dad ,who wasn't supporting them and had no right to see his children.I have two ex sons-in-law. One is almost $12,000.00 behind in child support, the other is well over $20,000.00. In Ohio ,the moms and children suffer and the dads can send $50.00 a month and the judge smiles..
If Boudreaux had cared about his children ,he would have chosen a better time/place to act responsibly to visit with them. This way they were subjected to the horror of watching their grandpa attacked and their father killed. Way to go fella.

and i have relatives who are up to date, provide more food and clothing that the custodial parent, and the courts still refuse to enforce visitation.....what about immoral mothers, they should face prison just as the “deadbeat dads” do...and maybe the dads are deadbeats because they do not get to see their children.....

Being behind on child support is totally separate from visitation and custody.

Maybe the deceased Boudreaux was

Or maybe the opposite. There isn't enough information in the story to determine who was at fault.

The two incidents you cite are interesting in that in most states, visitation is independent of support.

Uh-huh...you seem to have all the answers.

Consider that the man you are quick to call a 'deadbeat' was laid-off and had no income...or only enough income to keep himself off the street and having just enough food to eat.

Do you think the court gives a damn? NO! Their attitude is the same as that line from the movie Goodfellas when they described the obligation of the restaurant owner.

"...But now the guy's gotta come up with Paulie's money every week no matter what. Business bad? @$!# you, pay me. Oh, you had a fire? @$!# you, pay me. Place got hit by lightning huh? @$!# you, pay me."

“While they are fixing that, they need to do something about deadbeat dads.”

The epidemic of “deadbeat dads” is a MYTH! Our govt made it up to cover their mistakes with welfare. MOST noncustodial parents pay every dime every month. Next is the group who pay almost all of it almost all of the time. The smallest group is parents who are chronic non payers.

Right now the media writes about “deadbeat dads” because the govt has included all noncustodial parents in their collections, even families who don’t want or need it. They did this to collect more federal matching funds. It’s all a fraud.

STOP DISSING DADS!!!!

I know hundreds, if not thousands of dads who are illegally kept from their children.
