Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki unexpectedly cancelled a scheduled visit to Tehran, which was to follow an official visit to Turkey.
Reliable sources explained that Malikis sudden return to Baghdad has to do with the possibility that U.S. president-elect Barack Obama might be visiting U.S. troops in Iraq during Christmas.

For our troops' sake, let's hope it's just a rumor. They deserve a merry Christmas without more grandstanding by the usurper-in-chief.

If he goes, he will receive a warm reception. He will be CIC in Jan, and the troops will do their duty.
Let’s pray that in the long run, he will do his.

He has no business being anywhere near the troops before Jan 20th.
What arrogance!

We've not received any street closure or lockdown notices so far. There are no increases in Black Hawks patrolling the skies.
We all know when a big shot (or in this case, scumbag) is in the area, believe me.

if it was President Obama and Ronald Reagan went to meet the troops before being sworn in we would say its presidential and good for him.

At least we knew that President Reagan was eligible to be CIC.
Although I still think it would have been inappropriate.

No shoe gets thrown and the media will trumpet this 24/7 as proof how popular Obama is around the globe, while Bush is the Devil.
