Too bad we don't have more Hollywood stars like this guy.

081216-N-5617R-047 CORONADO, Calif. (Dec. 16, 2008) - Capt. Michael Kelly, commanding officer of Fleet Readiness Center Southwest, presents toys and a check to retired Gunnery Sgt. R. Lee Ermey to benefit the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program at Naval Air Station North Island. Fleet Readiness Center Southwest has been supporting the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program for 49 years. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Rialyn Rodrigo/Released)

Gunny is a good man doing good works. Besides, if this man asked you for a donation, would you say no? ;-)

We love his show - and no, I wouldn’t disobey him!

“You WILL give a donation, and you WILL like it! Do you understand, maggot?!?! These are KIDS we’re talking about! Have you no HEART, you POOR EXCUSE for a human being?!?! Reach into that wallet and GIVE! Right the **** NOW!!!”
(Or at least as I imagine he would do...)

"Today... is Christmas! There will be a magic show at zero-nine-thirty! Chaplain Charlie will tell you about how the free world will conquer Communism with the aid of God and a few Marines! God has a hard-on for Marines because we kill everything we see! He plays His games, we play ours! To show our appreciation for so much power, we keep heaven packed with fresh souls! God was here before the Marine Corps! So you can give your heart to Jesus, but your ass belongs to the Corps! Do you ladies understand?"

I always enjoyed his roll in “Full Metal Jacket.” The interesting thing about the roll he plays is that he never steps out of character; he is always seen as the Drill Sergeant. He is never just an ordinary person, never relaxed.
