Tuesday, President George W. Bush granted pardons to 19 people and commuted the sentence of one person, according to the Justice Department -- but the names of two jailed Border Patrol agents were conspicuously absent.

Thus ended any hopes of a Christmas commutation of sentence for Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean in the shooting case of Mexican drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila.

This is a sad day for the Republican party. Bush's lack of compassion in connection with Ramos and Campeon is unforgiveable. It shows me that Bush is part of the elite who rule not according to the wishes of the people, especially if the people do not have connections or money. The Republicans are almost as corrupt and callous as the Democrats. We need a sea change in the Republican party.

Anyone still wondering why Bush is disliked by liberals and conservatives alike?

Duh?

Bush could have giving John “I piss on the Republican Base” McCain and Sarah Palin’s campaign a well timed boost if he had pardoned the two Border Agents and announced it to the Nation right before the election, putting the topic in the publick view.

Come to think of it, what DID Bush do for McCain and Palin’s campaign, other than go hard left and bail out the super rich by indebting the poor and middle class (steal from the poor and give to the rich).
