Tuesday, President George W. Bush granted pardons to 19 people and commuted the sentence of one person, according to the Justice Department -- but the names of two jailed Border Patrol agents were conspicuously absent.
Thus ended any hopes of a Christmas commutation of sentence for Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean in the shooting case of Mexican drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila.
The president left the White House today for the Christmas holiday at the presidential retreat at Camp David.
According to a Bloomberg report, however, President Bush could issue more presidential acts of clemency. The White House didnt rule out the potential for additional pardons, spokesman Tony Fratto said without any special reference to the agents.
Reportedly, both cases continue under active review by the U.S. Pardon Attorney after an administrative delay caused by the men appealing their sentences through the normal channels of justice.

Anyone actually give a rational thought to the fact that they might be guilty? It was explained well in a thread yesterday.
“Anyone actually give a rational thought to the fact that they might be guilty?”
oh and these other clowns who were pardoned weren’t “guilty”
please tell me you’re J/K...shezzzzzzzzzzzzz
Bless you - God’s already blessed those kids. Merry Christmas.

It has nothing to do with drug dealers. What it has to do with is Bush’s unspoken agreement with Mexico that anything that is positive for them will be promoted at the expense of the US. Immigration, smuggling, drug dealing, gun running, border protection. Look at everything Bush has done concerning Mexico and it’s more of a “good neighbor” policy than our national security.
As usual Bush has his priorities all bass ackwards. No wonder so many good decent Americans has such a low opinion of this shameful man.
Well then hell, let’s just pardon everyone.
Even if you’re right, that they’re “guilty”... what about all those other pardons. Aren’t the recipients of those pardons “guilty”?
Where’s hard-hearted Bush on this one, hey?
Curious..........
Does anyone know how many of the pardons issued by President Bush since he’s been in office were to people still serving their incarcerations?
"FJB2" is Johnny Sutton's screen name on FR?
“Maybe Boosh is taking money from the drug-dealers....seems they are the only ones who get pardons”
What a tangled web we weave:
