I am aware of literally hundreds of people and businesses that have moved assets out of the US in the last five years.

I recently heard on a radio newscast that some US doctors are forming corporations to build medical clinics and hospitals in the Caribbean Islands in order to escape the socialized medicine scheme that Obama intends to set up in cooperation with the liberal Democrat controlled House and Senate that will convene next year.

Unfortunately, the average American patient won't be able to afford the cost of traveling to and staying in those offshore medical facilities plus the uninsured cost of the medical treatment and drugs, and will be condemned to the long waits for treatment here in the US that ailing Canadians and Brits now have to endure. I don't know how much truth there is to that radio news story, if any, but it seems to me as though it's probably true for at least some doctors who are adamantly opposed to socialized health care. I'm not a doctor, but if I were I would not willingly participate in whatever leftist Euro-style socialized medicine scheme that Obama may have planned for us.

I have read similar info. It is my understanding that several insurance companies are agreeing to have procedures done in these places because it is cheaper for them even with a plane ticket thrown in. Thailand and India both are suppose to have state of the art new and very clean facilities.
