Might I suggest that you develop a weekly food plan, and design your meals to meet all your nutritional needs, and stock the foods you will actually look forward to eating on a weekly basis.
If you have, or suspect that you might have very little ones under your care, make sure you have food that they can eat. If you suspect you might have women of child-bearing age, be prepared for that. You know what I mean.
And, water is the biggest problem. Each individual needs at least 1 gallon a day. We can live a lot longer without food than we can water.
Want to know how much water it takes to flush a toilet? Save up a gallon and see if it works, if you haven’t flushed for a day.
And, don’t forget a few hand can openers, so you can stretch those canned soups with rice you have stored. Have you stored wheat and yeast, so you can make bread?
Just wondering how prepared we all are to deal with whatever comes our way. It could be tornadoes, earthquakes, ice-storms, hurricanes, “emps”, or whatever.
Considering the “just-in-time” inventory system used by most of our local supermarket chains, we are smart to have storage shelves in our basements, so we do not have to suffer because the shelves are empty when we want to buy something essential.
Now, let’s go look at the magnificent “elected one’s pecs” again, and think of how the “incredible He” has honored the one solo grandmother who worked to give him a good life.
