Few people come as quickly to the defense of George McGovern as McGovern himself. The antiwar senator from South Dakota lost to Richard Nixon in a landslide in the 1972 presidential election, only to see Nixon, caught up in the Watergate scandal, resign in disgrace. For McGovern, thoughalong with many Democrats who followed himthe damage was done, and the now retired politician has spent decades defending the electability of antiwar liberals, insisting his campaign was undone by dirty tricks and bad luck. In recent years, McGovern, 86, hasn't relinquished the spotlight, condemning the war in Iraq and declaring Barack Obama, whom he endorsed after initially supporting Hillary Clinton, a "second Abraham Lincoln."

Does that mean that the south will be seceding?
stupid old man....
Obama does not believe in the INALIENABLE rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
He is the anti-Lincoln.
McGovern....has maybe one synapse left at this point, and apparently it is not a healthy one.
I hope so ... I fear a second Carter or, judging by his cabinet picks, a second Clinton.
He does have the pain-in-the-%@&$ wife that he has to make excuses for. Does that count?
he is much more like clinton imo
This time the whole country will secede from California.
These people are isane, totally insane.
So I guess we will have another war over taxes and states rights.
obama is not a republican
These people are insane, totally insane.

Well, he may end up presiding over another civil war... but that's about where the similarities stop. Lincoln was an intelligent, humble, self made and selfless man. zerO is none of those.
Couldn’t McGovern at least wait to make that comparison until BO had at least accomplished something? I guess one just can’t take George seriously.
Bad enough we don’t even celebrate Lincoln’s Birthday any more - now they want to diminish him even further by comparing him to Obama.
