Feel free to criticize him, he's not perfect, and in any case I'm sure his shoulders are broad enough, he can take it.
But the gold and riches part is probably misdirected. When his book sold, he paid back every dollar of salary he had received over the years, and now accepts no salary, and "reverse-tithes", living on 10% of his outside income and giving 90% to the church.
Not many pastors do that. Of course, not many are in a position to do that. He can, and he's doing it.
I just wish a pastor can pray without the thousands preying and mismanaging his ever word. To me, it shows the times we live it, latter days, all the way.Just as a positive note, I've never read Warren's book, but I've seen the folks at his church and met he and his wife and have NO bad things to say...and I never will, they're good folks...I just have no idea where he's been leading his flock. I loved his debate at Saddleback...showed me the morals and values of Abu Hussein and our Military hero mccain.
