Because that's how my Wife and her Mother sing it :-)
And they'll be doing it tomorrow. Christmas Eve is HUGH for Germans.

The composer of Silent Night, Franz Xaver Gruber, was a relative of Edmund Louis “Snitz” Gruber who wrote the Caisson Song. The Caisson Song is now the US Army Song, The Army Goes Rolling Along.
There’s 2 reasons for liberals to hate Silen Night.
