Whistle-blower adds twist to Stevens case

"...The whistle-blower's complaint, dated Dec. 2, is now the subject of an internal investigation by the Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility, according to a memorandum and order signed Friday by U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan of the District of Columbia.

Sullivan revealed the existence of the complaint, and three secret hearings about it last week, in his 29-page order.

Sullivan said little about the nature of the alleged misconduct. Among the allegations was that a government employee accepted "multiple things of value" from sources cooperating in the investigation, Sullivan said.

The judge also reported that the whistle-blower accused at least two federal employees of intentionally violating government policies in the corruption investigation in Alaska and in connection with material that was supposed to be provided to Stevens for his defense, Sullivan said."

The John Mitchell Case In another case in Alaska, persons with the John Mitchell case are going to send Senator Stevens' lawyer documents that show a similar pattern of misconduct in a federal EEO lawsuit brought against Army personel.

By redacting the names, does the Judge really believe that noone will be able to figure out who had the knowledge disclosed in the complaint?

I believe that Luddite fossil sitting Senator from Alaska was defeated from the House of Lords in his bid for an umpteenth term. Goodbye and Good riddance. Alaska is a Socialist state anyway.

Can’t trust federal prosecutors. At least Stevens didn’t spen over 20 years in prison like Edwin Wilson:

or 30 like the guys framed by the Boston FBI office.

It was brought up before the election, during the trial.

A LOT of FReepers have have comments like the dim-wit from O-hi-o - I count myself among the many Alaskans still waiting for a FAIR trial, not the DC railroad job.

Ted may be able to clear his name, but in the end, we will all be stuck with the little socialist Markie Beg-ich.

TO say the timing was more than a little suspicious is an understatement. We keep hearing from the press that Don Young is "under investigation" - and has been for over 4 years. At what point does everyone realize it IS NOT justice, but POLITICS?

The DOJ and FBI are political hacks now, one wonders how bad things will get when The One and Only takes over? We may be wishing for the good old days of Richard Nixon....
