Mayor Daley once again Saturday refused to join the chorus of state politicians demanding Gov. Blagojevich's resignation.
"He should really look at his family and look at the people of Illinois and be able to make a right decision,” Daley said. “That would be up to him to figure that out.”
Blagojevich made a defiant speech Friday, saying he had done nothing wrong and that he would be cleared of federal corruption charges alleging that he attempted to sell President-elect Barack Obama’s U.S. senate seat. Blagojevich also said he would stay on the job.
While refusing to call for Blagojevich to step down, Daley did say that the state faces “major” economic problems, and that an executive shouldn’t be “distracted.”
“You have to be 100 percent on board mentally, physically in regards to when you’re an executive,” said Daley. “That’s all you have to pay attention to. You cannot ever be distracted. Once you’re distracted, then it hurts anyone in government.”

Mike Royko’s famous book on Daley’s daddy, entitled BOSS, should be read by everyone who wants a sneak peak at what the next four years will be in the Oval Office.
Obama was marinated in the corrupt, crime-ridden, Chicago political machine of the Daleys and Saul Alinsky.
B.O.’s White House years will be scripted straight from the Chicago handbook.
