>> [kept the US safe] Arguably, but at what cost? $2 trillion between the war in Iraq, domestic security, and a sizable loss of freedom and privacy?

God forbid defense and research costs something. And, do you know the nature of the freedom and privacy you lost?

>> [Bush] destroyed the Republican Party, and cratered the economy, the public’s trust, the conservative movement, AND America’s moral and military prestige and clout.

Maybe Pro-life, SCOTUS, and tax cuts aren’t important to your brand of ‘conservatism’. The GOP destroyed itself, and not by one man, but by at least a gang if not both houses.

Your arguments are not on balance with the surroundings in which Bush had to operate. There are certainly a number of policy failures, but your generalizations are pinging the BDS meter.

I guess Harriet Myers (Bush's pick for SCOTUS), Teddy Kennedy (No Drunken Senator Left Behind), and those big "Welcome, Illegals!" signs (Fast-Track Amnesty pushed hard by your man Dubya), Campaign Finance Reform (SCOTUS isn't gonna declare this Constitutional, so I'll sign it for my buddies on the Left), Senate's Nuclear Option Nuked (Gang of 14 "Bi-partisan" friends of Bush), Bailout By The Billions (another big "Welcome!" sign, only this time it's for his Skull and Bones cohorts from Wall Street and CFR) --and MUCH more--are part and parcel of your brand of 'conservatism'?

Count me in with F16Fighter. George W. Bush has done a great job...of leading those who have made The United States of America unrecognizable from what it was even 8 years ago when he took office. Who would have thought we would have a president who is so spineless that he calls Islam a "Religion of Peace"? (Bring out the "Welcome, Y'all!" signs again.) Who would have thought a once "Grand Old Party" would become what it is now, The BOHICA Party? The list is endless. Worst. President. Ever.

[kept the US safe] Arguably, but at what cost? $2 trillion between the war in Iraq, domestic security, and a sizable loss of freedom and privacy?

"God forbid defense and research costs something. And, do you know the nature of the freedom and privacy you lost?"

Ever been to an airport since 9/11? Do you support the TSA's intrusion into everyone's records and privacy? Was the $ Trillion War in Iraq necessary to preserve our "security"? (while the Illegal Invasion of America continues unabated?) Why are 40,000 Saudi Student Visas being dispersed by the Bush Administration when 15 of 19 9/11 Terrorist Hijackers were...SAUDI?

How can we possibly have waged a "War on Terror" when the President REFUSED to clamp down on our borders since 9/11? This is "SECURITY"?? The ongoing WoT policy has not only been inconsistent, but has made little sense. As to cost, should we continue to give the Gubmint a black check for "security" that can't be quantified? It is only by the grace of God or luck we haven't experienced a huge terrorist attack by now - Islamofascist cells are indeed alive and well in America...

Maybe Pro-life, SCOTUS, and tax cuts aren’t important to your brand of ‘conservatism’. The GOP destroyed itself, and not by one man, but by at least a gang if not both houses."

Dubya Bush gets ONE single point for his pro-life position, but never really did much to advance the conservative agenda. Of course you will point out the SC appointments of the pro-life Roberts and Alito, but we got Alito ONLY because his pick -the RINO Miers - was rejected. Roberts and Alito we THE two "accomplishments" of the Bush Presidency.

As to "Tax Cuts," how do tax cuts really matter when we're spending $1 trillion dollars on a war that needs to be paid for, Bush's advocacy in 2002 of $440 billion for the failed CRA mortgages? OR the latest $700 billion+ tab in "bail Outs??

I will concede the following point; The GOP was not as you point out "destroyed by a single man"; It was destroyed by a cadre of Globalist-Elitists who are stacking the deck on behalf of New World Order.

"Your arguments are not on balance with the surroundings in which Bush had to operate. There are certainly a number of policy failures, but your generalizations are pinging the BDS meter."

With all due respect, Bush's parameters were created for him; I can't possible have BDS because I realize he was merely a hood ornament and puppet of his NWO Overlords. He merely did as he was told....and much to the chagrin of liberals everywhere, so will 0bama.
