Wow. That was a pretty long stretch. Equating what I wrote with the behavior of some deranged arsonist. You have a curious set of glasses through which you look at things. “My quivering trigger finger”? Good Lord, you do have your panties in a twist. Take a deep breath. I am not, have not and do not promote vigilante behavior. Relax.

Roger, HAA. Wilco. I’ll relax, but don’t you ever relax. Maintain current defcon threat level stancing and simulating. Always take the seat facing the entrance. Always do a full 360 degree scan while walking through the mall or other big public space. Always keep the jacket unzipped for access, but never unzip the tactical-black kevlar vest. Etc. Alert! Aware! Peaceful, but Ready to do Violence! Save that sheep!

And I should not just pick on you and your Cougar(?) son. There’s a bunch of y’all on this thread who “do not promote vigilante behavior” while seeming to be hoping or even praying that some stranger will misbehave badly enough to earn a hail of your righteous bullets. Like the one guy who had trouble deciding whether to go back upstairs and grab his usual hi-cap carry gun and four spare mags for a drive to the convenience store, or if he should risk the trip with only a loaded S&W 29 and three speedloaders. Sheesh!

You seem to have some serious pent up anxiety about this issue as well as firmly established stereotypes. Quite an objective point of view. A couple of situations to keep in mind while you mock me: McDonalds in Killeen TX - 23 killed, 20 wounded, Virginia Tech - 33 dead, 23 wounded, San Ysidro Mcdonalds - 21 dead, 15 injured, Red Lake High School, Columbine, Milwaukee Living Church of God, Capitol Hill Massacre, Tacoma Mall Shooting, etc, etc, etc. All situations in which an armed citizen could have drastically reduced the carnage. So, continue to mock. It does not matter what your opinion is. Oh, BTW, a my son is a student at Washington State University (the Cougars). The reference was made to the original commenter who is an alum. Merry Christmas.

In all the situations you mention, an armed citizen could have drastically reduced, or moderately increased, the carnage. Depends on the citizen. CCW folks have, in the recent past, performed admirably in a couple of mad-gunman emergencies, but past performance is no guarantee of similar future success.

So you go ahead and use your own gun to protect your own self, or your own family. More firepower to you. But don’t try to start sheepdogging me. I’m not your little lamb. In an emergency, I don’t think I’d be inclined to want much help from a lone, armed, self-appointed, civilian volunteer. Joyeux noel.

Good enough. You are truly an island among men. I feel confident that in an emergency you’ll require no assistance from anybody. Good Luck and God bless.
