Now, now. My Chrysler just rolled over 100k and still purrs like a kitten. Oh, wait. Never mind. It was built in Canada.

Lemme guess - SUV. All I can tell you is that Chrysler minivans are notorious for transmission problems. Nicely-designed, user-friendly vehicles - it's just that they use crappy parts so they can continue to cover the UAW's hefty pay packages and slack work rules. (And when they tell you that labor only accounts for 10% a vehicle's cost, they're not counting the UAW labor - required in the contract - that puts together the sub-assemblies at the parts suppliers).

I just told my very liberal sister about the drinking instead of working and she said there are better controls needed and I said it won’t work because of the union protection - at which she refused to discuss it anymore except to say that the CEOs are worse.

This from a person who has refused to ever buy another Ford because they keep falling apart.

ARRRGH!
