I used to be a payroll person. We had two employees. Worker #1 worked a 7am to 3:00pm shift. Worker #2 worked 3:00pm to 11:00pm.

The worker #1 who left at 3:00pm would punch the timecard of worker #2. Worker #2 would arrive at 4:30pm or so and punch the timecard of worker #1. That resulted in often showing at least 1½ of overtime for worker #1.

A caller to Rush when Jason Lewis was subbing was a UAW worker and said this is what his coworkers were doing and he didn’t like them putting his life in danger coming back to the job drunk.

Not really. This *is* the UAW we’re talking about. Home of the 60,000 mile transmission.

Now, now. My Chrysler just rolled over 100k and still purrs like a kitten.

Oh, wait. Never mind. It was built in Canada.

Government jobs are way better. You don’t have to do anything and you get paid way more.

You usually have to be a Democrat to get one though.

“I wonder if their benefits package includes free rehab?”

Yes, it does.

Or, after a heavy 4 hour shift at the bar, they’ll make him drive one of their special Fords off the production line
;)

South Gate. The plant closed in 1983. I wasn’t much more than a mere lad.

Lemme guess - SUV. All I can tell you is that Chrysler minivans are notorious for transmission problems. Nicely-designed, user-friendly vehicles - it's just that they use crappy parts so they can continue to cover the UAW's hefty pay packages and slack work rules. (And when they tell you that labor only accounts for 10% a vehicle's cost, they're not counting the UAW labor - required in the contract - that puts together the sub-assemblies at the parts suppliers).

Union folks are the nastiest branch of the liberal tree that I have bumped heads with. They are the most likely to do you physical harm.

I’d say these dudes are simply alcoholics.

Apparently you don't read my posts. You confuse my support of keeping a domestic auto and manufacturing industry in the US with support of the UAW. I'm assuming that you don't read all my posts. Nowhere will you find support of the UAW in any way shape or form. I go into great detail in my experiences working in a Union Shop and all the problems associated. I have criticized the UAW countless times.

I want the UAW to go away. Got it? That said I also want to maintain a domestic auto industry. It's important for the health and security of the country. I believe this. I don't think the transports are the same as US companies.

So please read my comments more carefully before you accuse me of something that I didn't say.
