Three good Samaritans chased down a cowardly thug after he beat and tried to mug a woman in front of a trendy Manhattan bar, cops said yesterday.

Kester Robinson, 23, was allegedly trying to steal the 33-year-old victim's iPhone and purse at around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday near Mama's Bar on Avenue B in the East Village, sources said.

Customers Brian Bielemeier and Jude Campbell joined the chase, tailing Robinson for several blocks until the suspect ran out of steam.

"As soon as I grabbed him, he started crying and said, 'Don't call police,' and 'Let go, I have asthma,' " Bielemeier told The Post.

1. It's legal to print "good Samaritan" in a paper these days? 2. It's legal to call a thug and thug, and a cowardly one at that? 3. When will the trial begin for the good Samaritans? 4. Who will pay for the healthcare of the asthmatic thug? 5. Why did George Bush drive the poor man to thievery?

About 8 years ago my wife was leaving the local HEB grocery store, headed to her car. A little punk about 18 tackled her so hard trying to get her purse, that he knocked her and the cart to the ground. It ended up with him in a headlock and my wife screaming “ You Son of a Bitch “. Two young men came over and held him down until the police could arrive. All he could sat to the police was how strong that little old lady was. She's 56, 5-4 and weighs 125 lbs and can still grab a 400lb calf and throw him on his arse. Don't mess with little west TX cowgirls!

Hmmmm. New York. Liberal. I’m guessing a month or two - that way he can go to mugger retraining and be ready for the summer crowd.

She ended up with a big bruise on her butt a skinned elbow and 2 broken nails, he ended up doing 16 months in the TDC. He definitely got the worst end of that deal. The 2 young men wasn't quite as gentle with him as she was. Them boy's got to do a little deer hunting on my place that year. One of those boy's is now a US Marine who's already done 2 tours in Iraq. The other is a deputy for the local Sheriff's Dept. We're very proud of both them boy's.
