The accused 7th graders would have faced years in juvenile detention and a lifetime listing on the sexual offender list.

They were strip-searched by police as many as nine times while in custody.

They were held up to ridicule by their classmates.

All for some silly hijinks that are indulged in by nearly every 13-year-old.

OTOH, 13-year-olds who join gangs, sell drugs, and use guns, would probably be let out on probation because the system is too busy to handle them...

Had things been they way they are now, when I was growing up, I’d be getting out... right about now. ;>)

I wonder how much time a guy could get for dropping a couple of water filled balloons on unsuspecting Nuns.
