My wife and I completed our CHL class last weekend. The instructor said a shooting will always go to a grand jury and expect to spend $20,000.00 on a Shyster, I mean lawyer. Even if you have justifiable cause and are not guilty. I would like some confirmation on his statement. Beretta Tomcat Inox, nice choice.

Depends a lot on location.

Where do you live? If your state has the Castle Law and it includes the “stand your ground” provision, you have no worry about being sued in court for defending yourself with deadly force. Before Missouri had that, my instructor also said the same thing when I was taking my CCW class. Now, since the Castle law and stand your ground with deadly force has passed and is the law, the defense lawyers for the perp can’t sue. I love it when a plan (law) comes together. :)
