Since the State SC agreed to hear the case can he now appeal to the SCOTUS if he needs to?

Coleman can appeal all he wants, the SCOTUS will not hear the case.

I can't think of a single reason why they should.

This isn't Gore vs Bush 2000.

It’s still a Republican majority Supreme Court. I can see them finding for Coleman to prevent one-party Democrat rule.
