Buy American. Dependence on imports for parts and service is foolish.

It was very painful therapy and some reality re driving thrown in.

She did learn a lesson that everything doesn’t have be done right now or doesn’t have an emergency status.

I don’t think that you can fill up at the source any more.

At the height of the gas priceds, a gallon of Calistoga water in the local discount liqour store cost less.

Our DIL and older son live in E CC, and she said there was a bump up per gallon this past weekend. Our son deals with many of the gas refineries told her not to fill up.

That Calistoga water was good!
You son might have a temporary gasoline bottleneck or it might be attributed to the short lived crude jump to 48$ about 10 days ago that is still filtering down

Gasoline prices are quick to jump up but "sticky" on the way down

What’s a billion, even a billion here or a billion there? Tell your boss to belly up to the Bailout Bar ASAP. House payments or rent could be an issue, but a billion...no sweat!

So if oil drops down to, say, $20, does that mean that gold and silver will likely move lower in tandem with oil (not necessarily matching it percentage-wise)?

That'd be nice -- I'd find the money to get into those then ... assuming I knew a reputable dealer of the stuff.

gas better go down again. It went up before the meeting since oil was going up

Maybe in some selected local markets but the overall average kept falling.

If we started drilling right now

Been drilling since 1830 and haven't even thought of stopping.

I have a 7 year old son with those tendencies. I was hoping it was something he would grow out of, but it stays the same.

You have to check out the gold/oil ratio which has been tracked for decades and the charts are on the internet
Right now gold and oil are de-linked and gold is behaving stable or up while crude is down despite OPEC machinations. Can you imagine an OPEC meeting these days. It's like "Reservoir Dogs". Nobody trusts nobody

APMEX is reputable though I prefer local and have only bought local in my life
Go here to find more about APMEX. They are trusted and have Maple Leafs available now

The only thing that scares me about my call is that Merrill is now calling for $30.00

I think we should trade merrill to the Saudis for oil!!! If they don't want too much cash, for taking merrill.

Gas prices here in Oklahoma jumped up 10-cents a gallon on the news that OPEC did that big cut. I think they were anticipating the rise in oil prices. I had held off filling up, and was just about to do so, until I saw the price jump in gas. So, I’m stalling, once again, to see them drop 10-cents a gallon now — and more... LOL...

The steep decline in oil prices is one of the big factors that's driving the interest rates on U.S. Treasury bills down. These oil-producing nations that have sold a lot of oil in the last few years for U.S. dollars are willing to invest those dollars and get a 0% return on the money . . . because the alternative is to "invest" this money in their oil-producing capacity in the face of free-falling oil prices.

0% (interest rates on short-term Treasuries) is a terrible return . . . but it looks magnificent compared to a 73% decline in oil prices since July.

O Obsessive
C Compulsive
D Disorder

Obsessive Compulsion often makes normal gifted people into stars and super stars in business, health care, sports and other professions.

If they can’t control it at work, home and in many social situations, they can become super PIA’s.

Many love their PDAs, cell phones or combos more than their family members. These levels are diagnosed as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, OCD. The OCD often becomes clinical and pathological like Howard Hughes with dirt.

My wife is an Obsessive Compulsive. The good news is she has no cell phone, pda or a personal planner and has never activated her email account at work.

The truck I use for work has a 36-gallon tank. There was a time not too long ago when I couldn't even fill the thing up in one transaction because gas stations had limits of $75, $80 or $100 on each credit card transaction.

So you can imagine how fantastic it was to put 32 gallons into it yesterday for less than $50.

You said — “If we started drilling right now we could collapse it to ten or twenty bucks a barrel.”

Why would the people who make money from the drilling and getting the oil out of the ground *want* to drill now? It doesn’t make any sense...

In fact, it would probably *drive them out of business* if they drilled now... That would be the stupidest thing they could do.
