Is this what the 20,000 troops were all about?

Did President Bush see this economic crash coming down the pike?

Do they know something we don’t?

Will Food Stamps be good for ammo purchase?

Whew... thanks for pee’ing on that fire before it go out of hand, angkor. Fellow FReepers, the War College is graduate school for officers. What we have here is a typical case of journalism out of context. If this topic concerns you - you would probably be mortified at some of the other topics of dissertation that has come out of the War College over the years. The very reason for the existence of the Strategic Studies Institute within the War College is to contemplate such issues.

Osama has already proposed a National Police Force to "help" our local police.

Is it the Manifesto, or Mein Kampf that outline this plan?

This very well could happen due to the ineptitude and corruption on the part of many of the money and government types. Sound crazy but if/when the economy goes into the toilet and the citizens are outraged there is a potential for this to occur.

Ping. Little old ladies are asked if they are terrorists and meanwhile the border floods with lawbreakers and the Washington elite rob us blind then threaten us with a Police State.

I understand the necessity of policy papers and so forth. I also understand there have been times in our nation’s history from the Whiskey Rebellion, Post WWI veteran’s riots and coal mine strikes.
I also believe, some of these papers percolate higher in the national consciousness than others. Can we trust the government to abstain from the use of force against the American population on a hair trigger?

it would be interesting to see just exactly who they might consider to be the “enemy”.

I hold the same opinion, my worry is how long will it take for them to make up their mind?

So the rumors of a super secret "we're all gonna die" Congressional meeting in Sept is correct.

I haven't heard about this. Anyone have sources?

I have been encouraging tinkerer Freepers to create something like a Ronco home cartridge maker. Add casings with primers in them, add propellant and bullets to get perfect cartridges every time.

Exactly measured amounts of propellant per casing, and reliable crimping. Different settings for different calibers. Casings w/primers, propellant and bullets sold separately.

Yes, that’s true.

But it’s not even remotely the point that Col. Freier is addressing in his paper, which is about the several classes and categories of “known unknowns” and how the DoD might raise awareness of them.

It is most definitely not about “domestic riots” as the lunatic and hysterically girlish MSM is portraying it.

This is looking to next year, when the financial contraction begins.

If Pres. Bush were to be in office next year, this would be yet another ‘grounds of impeachment’ according to the leftists and liberals in this country.

But because it will be under Komrade Hussein Obammie the Commie's watch, this will be ‘for the public good’ and supported.

Look for the Patriot Act to be turned into what the Left has falsely accused it of being these past few years. They'll herald the truly Big Brother additions to it as brilliance on the part of Hussein.

After 9/11 there were a lot of War College papers posted here. The quality of the work and the intellectual content were outstanding. We have some really bright people manning the long gray line.

I haven't heard anything about our stockpile of emergency oil reserves lately. Does anyone know if we are buying up all that cheap oil that is under $40/barrel and filling up the underground caverns? Would be a good time to do it in MHO.

Richard Sanders-
excerpt..... Hoover enlisted the Army to drive the vets out of the city. In charge of the Battle of Antacostia was Douglas MacArthur, and his top men were Dwight Eisenhower and George Patton. They used the US Army to crush the Bonus Army. Excessive force was used, several died and Hooverville was burnt to the ground. This helped lead to Roosevelt's election in 1933.
