Ed Genson says lawmakers have a duty to give his client, Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a fair shake in their impeachment investigation, even if public outrage over criminal accusations against him could create a "real witchhunt."
Shortly after sparring some this afternoon with members of the House committee investigating impeachment, Blagojevich's lawyer urged fairness in a Capitol news conference.
"As much as people want to see something happening, they have to do it properly," Genson said.
He says the governor might make his first public statement on Friday about the charges he's facing but cautioned that Blagojevich doesn't want to do anything to hurt his case in court.

“I knew that I was being taped—I was only joking!”
I think all you have to do is say.....”I misspoke!!”....
Silly man. Democrats will decide who and who does not get a fair shake.
It was just a bone-headed mistake.
Milorad plays the victim card
This story never gets stale.
As they said in the old westerns, “were gonna have a fair trial before we hang him”
Isn’t Genson related to the GOv’s mother.... and somebody else in his circle is related to the Giovanni Family?
In that case the MOB will decide who and who does not get a fair shake....or otherwise shaken up.
I’m not current on who is related to who. As for the difference between the Mob and Democrats in who gets a fair shake, generally, the Democrats might let someone live. But a case could be made that there have been exceptions.
Or he is no longer producing $$$$ for them..... Maybe he can go back to making book on the Northside of CHicago, like he did before he went into politics.

Blago, I need a Governor. You're it, until you're dead or I find someone better.
I think this is going to get interesting.
>>I think this is going to get interesting.<<
Agreed.
I saw a Donald Trump interview today where he basically said that if people spent more time with politicians we’d know they all have attitudes like Blago but he was stupid and said ti on tape.
I agree with Patrick Ruffini who said
>>”It’s fair to say that any residual connections Obama may have with Gov. Blagojevich as a result of being an Illinois Senator are not the strongest part of our argument. I can understand the desire to go at Obama. But with Obama at 76% approval for the transition, our hits against him have to be clean hits, or they will blow up in our face.”<<
Genson is a mob lawyer. Blago was a loan shark.
Don’t expect that Blago has a lot of inside info. The Illinois Dems never trusted him because he was so obvious.
Yes Genson is a mob lawyer.....The X LEO who came forward yesterday said Blanko was a a bookie (athletic bets) on the North side, before he went into politics. I’ll see if I can find the thread.
Let’s hope Blago tunes up his singing voice ...
