The patch is to switch to Firefox........

Lately my IE7 has been freezing up at home and work, and I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to get it to close. I wonder if this is related.
Too many more problems with IE and people are going to jump ship in droves to FireFox, Safari or whatever, including me.

I downloaded mozilla firefox internet browser last night and it seems to work much faster than IE. I like mozilla better. With IE I would get cookie spyware when I logged onto myspace. Now with firefox that doesn’t happen anymore.

I had the same recurring problem and then the entire system committed suicide the other day. I can't even figure out what version of IE I'm running at the moment, I think it is 5.

I occasionally will use firefox or chrome for a few weeks at a time, but I always end up back at IE.

I've been running Firefox for years now so I don't lose sleep over Internet Explorer's flaws. There aren't a lot of websites that are so critical you can only view them in Internet Explorer.

I like this new Microsoft Mojave.

I stopped using firefox/Mozilla because they use Google, and reverted to IE with an Ask search engine.
How do you change to Opera?

Listen. There's a drop box in Firefox that lets you set your search engine and you can install one if it isn't present. You don't have to run Google with Firefox if you prefer another search engine.

I have tried before, and just tried to load Ask now with Mozilla through the drop down. It won't let me load it.

Firefox crashed a lot on my Linux, and I haven’t had those issues with Opera. Firefox has an advantage in plugins that are available for it, but I rarely need them, so for normal browsing, I prefer Opera, and use Firefox, when there is a particular plugin to use.

As suggested to me by another freeper a few months ago...
Download the “Adblock” and “NoScript” from the firefox site.
It’ll stop the annoying 3rd-party ads on the web sites and self-executing java applications.
FWIW...I love ‘em!
