When I found out who the owners were of the birth announcement home were I began to google and was surprised by how many dead ends I encountered. Some of the military information was from ancestry.com, and the military info when Orland Lefforge entered OCS at Ft Sill was actually found when I googled “Andrea Lefforge Harper” The first hits for “Orland Scott Lefforge” and “Thelma Young” that pop up on google are their obituaries. It takes a lot of digging to track them and I haven’t been too successful with Thelma. Some info was obtained from the memorial section dedicated to faculty at UH of Manoa which I will provide here:

http://webdata.soc.hawaii.edu/fredr/Necrology.htm

Some data was found in newspaper archives and if that is the case the name of the newspaper is identified above the story in question.
The data regarding the receipt of the M.A. and Phd started as the name of the thesis Lefforge obtained his M.A. with and I sent an email to the University of Wisconsin at Madison to verify that he had indeed been awarded both.
Finally I went to metacrawler and found the title of the article which he had published in 1971.
Lefforge’s name appears under donations for some of the places he gave money to and he is also listed as a member of the Osher Institute from google searching. I hope this helps somewhat.
