100 arrested in raids to thwart Mafia regrouping

ROME – Italian police backed by helicopters arrested almost 100 suspected mobsters Tuesday and thwarted a plan by the hobbled Sicilian Mafia to reconstitute itself and form a new ruling commission to set strategy, authorities said.

Good joke :-)

But the truth is the Chicago Outfit (Mafia) is basically kaput - over - done, all thanks to Patrick Fitzgerald (yes, him).

His Operation Family Secrets (trial ended last summer) put every Mob Boss in prison (who wasn't already there) and cleared up Mob Hits going back 18 years. Whatever is left of The Outfit is a shell of itself and any new bosses are hiding under their Cadillacs. Its almost so bad they're shaking down school kids for their lunch money.
