OMG!! The Crucifix is a CATHOLIC symbol....the Cross is a Protestant one. The Brits have never been friendly to Catholics...we are second class religion there. This is SICKENING!
A full crucifix probably scared the Moslem prisoners straight ~ can’t have that now.
Actually, we had a large crucifix behind the altar in the chapel of my Episcopal prep school. They aren’t unusual if the priest and congregation are High Church.
Or at least they weren’t. I think things are sliding downhill, probably.
I was thinking that if the prison authorities had consulted the Archbishop of Canterbury instead of a Muslim Imam, he probably would have said the same thing. Or maybe footbaths on both sides, in case they get a real crowd of Muslims.
Makes sense,, most criminals there are muslim (sarc)

So it is no longer a prison where one is sent to do penance for their crimes, but it is now a Madrassas.
I wonder what they will do when the Muslims inform them that incarcerating them for any crimes they may have committed offends them?
Tell them that they will only have to be in jail during the weekends?

Really. This is BEYOND being utterly ridiculous.
It’s ALWAYS about “offending” Muslims, isnt’ it? It’s NEVER about anyone offending Christians.
Someone has GOT to put a foot down and say “enough” before it’s too late.
And it may be too late in Europe.
(And here in the good old USofA, it’s always about offending Muslims, Blacks, Gays, etc, etc, ad vomitum and NEVER about offending White Males, Catholics, Christians, Working Moms, Stay at Home Moms, Heterogenderized Couples, etc, etc, etc.)
We’ll solve the problem by putting the crucifix in the Mosque and a Menorah in the chapel and a crescent in the temple. Then everyone is equally offended.

I suggest you ask the muslim inam how they accomodate Christians in their Country’s.

I guess I’m baffled; I would think the Muslims would be delighted to see a dead Jew hung on a cross, the most ignominous means of death in the Roman world, crucifixion.
